Some soccer players may be born with natural talent, but the fundamental skills can developed through repetition, observation and visualization. With regular training and practice of a specific movement or technique, the player builds confidence and the target motion becomes natural to him. Each position on the field has a specific job to do. All players must be comfortable on the ball and be able to control the ball. Defenders must be able to tackle and claim the ball, midfielders need to pass the ball accurately, wingers need to be able to dribble and cross the ball accurately, and strikers have to be able to shoot and score goals.
