As the key to being good at soccer is to work hard on all of the fundamentals, we will start with how to train your feet and train your mind. This constant practice and improvement in your ball skills will allow to progress faster than others.

The process of learning specific soccer skills will involve the following three steps:

1. Imagine yourself kicking the ball

2. Let your body kick the ball as well as it can

3. See what is happening when you kick the ball.

Some soccer players may be born with natural talent, but the fundamental skills can developed through repetition, observation and visualization. With regular training and practice of a specific movement or technique, the player builds confidence and the target motion becomes natural to him. Beginner soccer players over time can master a range of soccer skills: ball control, dribbling, passing, crossing, shooting, heading, volleying, taking throw-ins, penalties, corner kicks and free kicks, tackling, marking, juggling, receiving, shielding, clearing, goalkeeping, and soccer psychology. Each position on the field has a specific job to do. All players must be comfortable on the ball and be able to control the ball. Defenders must be able to tackle and claim the ball, midfielders need to pass the ball accurately, wingers need to be able to dribble and cross the ball accurately, and strikers have to be able to shoot and score goals.
